The Alliance Hotel is an award-winning, family-run pub owned by Nick and Meagan Gregorski.
Established in 1864 to service the local area and accommodate Queensland’s economic boom at the time, the pub has seen a variation on themes and over 150 years of stories and historic tales, while the building itself - the building we see today - was built in 1888 and has been preserved with its original charm intact both inside and out, making it ideal for all private and corporate functions held in Brisbane.
While The Alliance Hotel is today renowned for its superlative dining experiences, great wine and beer selection, intimate settings and versatile small function room hire, it’s long been well-known for its colourful past and history of being a bit 'left-of-centre'. Apparently, in 1878 the original licensee, Charles Zachariah Bertheau, produced Australia's first absinthe though, rather unfortunately, both he and his wife Mary Ann were admitted to a mental asylum sometime around the 1890’s, according to the Mental Asylum Records of Queensland…

Fast forward to 2012 where new licensee Nick Gregorski and wife Meagan decided it was time to give the old girl a new lease on life and set about restoring the inside of the hotel to reflect a modern, yet contemporary pub atmosphere where people would feel welcome and at home the minute they walked through the door, a mission that still stands to this very day.
The Alliance Hotel’s mission is to provide a classic old pub experience defined by exceptional service and food accompanied by a great selection of wines, beers and spirits - and the odd glass of absinthe - set in beautiful relaxed surrounds. From the moment you walk in it feels like you’re a local - whether a first-timer or regular patron, you’ll have a great time every time!
