Karen Saunders

Karen Saunders Art is the inaugural artist for our Art @ The Alliance programme,
showcasing local Brisbane artists in our award winning restaurant and private dining room.

Karen Saunders is a watercolour, acrylic and mixed media artist, who has been painting for most of her life, without any formal training. 

Each piece of Karen's  artwork on display and for sale at The Alliance Hotel are the illustrations for her recently published book, "A Poet Unleashed - The Dark and Light Side of Poetry" which highlights the beautiful things we see in our world, but also deals with human emotions and negative feelings. 

As a retired mental health professional, and having dealt with her own experiences, through which Karen found writing and painting as valuable coping strategies, Karen is a huge advocate for those who are, or have suffered with various conditions attached to their mental health.

For each piece of work sold, Karen is donating $5 to SANE Australia
